Melanoma is the deadliest type of skin cancer. It took the life of Longport native, Tara Miller, when she was just 29 years old.
Tara fought a courageous 15-month battle with Stage IV melanoma. She passed in 2014.
Tara Miller made the best of it. She became an inspiration for her family and the entire community by creating the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation which seeks to find a cure.

The Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation was started by Tara Miller in 2014 after being diagnosed with melanoma and realizing the alarming odds and lack of options for patients. She knew the money she raised would not make a difference in her fight but wanted to change the odds for the next person.
In Tara’s words, “Although we can’t change what the statistics on melanoma have been…we chose to make the best of it and try to help change where they are going”.
